Prof. Dr. Serpil Ba\u011fc\u0131 was the advisor of the book, which is a tribute. The book, which is the fourth in the series of Gift Books supported by GSD, was realized with the initiative and editorship of Prof. Dr. Tan\u0131nd\u0131 and her former students and current colleagues Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asl\u0131han Erkmen and Dr. \u015eebnem Tamcan Parlad\u0131r, and the design of G\u00f6n\u00fcl Kaya.
\nIn addition to the classical topics in the field of manuscripts, Zeren Tanan\u0131d\u0131 Arma\u011fan\u0131 covers different fields such as codicology, conservation, reading and collecting culture: Book Arts and Culture in the Islamic World includes articles written especially for Zeren Tan\u0131nd\u0131, as well as original essays covering previously unexamined topics and works.
\nArt Historian Prof. Dr. Zeren Tanan\u0131d\u0131 was the recipient of the Silver Tulip Award, which is presented to personalities who have dedicated their lives to traditional arts and contributed to the survival, development and promotion of these arts.
\nThe Silver Tulip, the first award given in the field of traditional arts, has been given by GSD since 2006 to the doyens of the field who have dedicated their lives to traditional arts. Previously presented to Hikmet Barut\u00e7ugil, Hasan \u00c7elebi, Cahide Keskiner, Nurhan Atasoy, \u0130slam Se\u00e7en, \u00dclker Erke and Filiz \u00c7a\u011fman, the eighth Silver Tulip Award was presented to Prof. Dr. Zeren Tan\u0131nd\u0131 this year.

\nWho is Prof. Dr. Zeren Tanan\u0131d\u0131? Prof. Dr. Tan\u0131nd\u0131, who received his bachelor’s and doctorate degrees from the Department of Art History at Istanbul University, worked at the Topkap\u0131 Palace Museum Library until 1984; After continuing his studies at Bursa Directorate of Culture, he moved to Uluda\u011f University and established the Department of Art History here in 1994. Prof. Dr. Zeren Tanan\u0131d\u0131 has written numerous books, book chapters, articles and papers in all fields of Islamic book arts; she has taken part in various exhibitions and projects; and after her retirement, she continued her work as a consultant at Sak\u0131p Sabanc\u0131 Museum and Sadberk Han\u0131m Museum.
