Artists, academicians and experts working in the fields of Ebru, Miniature and Hüsn-i Hat are invited to the workshop titled “Preserving the Tradition” to be organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism General Directorate of Research and Education and Traditional Arts Association.
The workshop will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 2003 UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, which Turkey has registered in the Convention’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity: Turkish Paper Decorating Art (2014), Miniature Art (2020), Hüsn-i Hat, Traditional Fine Writing in Islamic Art in Turkey (2021), which Turkey has registered on the Convention’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
In the 20th anniversary of the Convention, the workshop aims to exchange ideas on strategies to protect the rich heritage of the traditional book arts of Ebru, Miniature and Hüsn-i Hat, to support Turkey’s international role in these arts and to transfer this valuable heritage to future generations. Artisans, academics and academic experts who carry out academic activities are invited to the workshop.
The 2-day workshop program will be held in the seminar hall number 173 of Rami Library.
